About the Tote Bag:
This collaboration between Jordan and Adrienne happened organically as this was an opportunity for them to combine their research into an object. Jordan has been experimenting with tie dye techniques over the last two years while Adrienne has been exploring wrought iron fences as portals that connect the rich ancestral history of Black ironworkers to ritual memory and spirituality. Two methods are blended to create an overall composition with ice dye being a more improvisational and abstract component and the iron fences, a more representational and structured detail.

About the Artist:
Adrienne Gaither, a designer and painter and Jordan Martin, a cultural collaborator have been working together in DC for the last 8 years, often times they work together as ideation partners and this is their first object based collaboration.
