why these were made and why the artist would like to part with them...
“I made these when I was experimenting with making collages on a white background. I wanted to play with colors and my collection of found materials. These works were helpful to me in thinking about the role color plays in my practice. While I love these pieces, I’m ready to part with them because I have moved on to other works and, being in grad school currently, I would like to use the money for upcoming projects.”

Artist Statement:
I am an interdisciplinary artist, whose current focus of practice is photography and hand-cut collage that utilizes paper ephemera, found objects and text. Some of the themes in my work relate to the experiences of women in the 21st century and the historical fragmentation of the female body. I also make work about interactions between men and women and how these interactions play out in building relationships and understanding. In recent works, I have been exploring ideas around loss after the death of my father, through a variety of mediums (screen-printing, photography and found objects). I have also been using a collection of vernacular photographs as writing prompts, studying the transference of grief when placed upon people I do not know in these found snapshots. I write text captions or longer prose to pair with the images in order to give voices to the figures frozen in these images.
