About the Tote Bag:
My tote bag may appear lively and colorful, however, I made it as an outlet to represent the stress and anxieties that come alongside growing up. When you enter college, everyone tells you it will be the "best four years of your life", yet fail to mention the profound struggles that many young adults face when undergoing some of the biggest transitions in their lives. In my personal experience, I have struggled with anxiety since coming to college. Luckily for me, in my creative-based major I have been given an outlet to deal with it. At first glance, my tote bag is colorful, sparkly, and smiley. But upon further inspection, you will see that it is also messy, scattered, and unclear. This is exactly as I wanted it to be; the bag is supposed to represent the anxieties that may sit just below the surface. But through art; creativity; expression, we are able to deal with it in a healthy way. Then maybe one day, we can look back and be grateful that art was there to help us during such an important time in our young-adult lives.

About the Artist:
Year: Junior
Major: Graphic Design
Hometown: West Chester, PA

Plans for the Future: When I graduate, I would like to always do something creative. Being creative would make work feel less like a job and more like an opportunity to express myself.

A Little bit more about Gianna: Starting as a performer and turning later towards the fine arts, I am a graphic design major who is passionate about all things creative. From singing, to drawing, to photography, there is no part of the arts that does not fascinate me. In my free time, I enjoy taking creative photos of my friends, working on graphic design, and doing anything creative. The arts is my form of self-expression; a place where I can not only follow my passion but learn leadership, resilience and strength.
