About the Tote Bag:
I made this bag for the purpose of expressing where I am from and the culture I have been raised in. This, however, does not affect the purpose of this bag and who it calls out to. On the bag are objects that are associated with Persian culture - the goldfish, representing life, the Persian treats, and borage, a flower grown in Iran that has many medicinal properties. In English, the writing on the bottom translates to “life is sweet”, alluding to the symbolism of the objects painted, as well as a general motto that is meant to uplift the person reading it.

This kind of work is different from what I have done before, as I have never created something that corresponds with my cultural background. As previously mentioned, anyone can wear this bag - the soft colors make a great match with the spring and upcoming summer months. The braid of cloth tied around the handle is a small accent to the bag, and it is also in the colors of the Iranian flag.
