“This is a photograph of Maltese plums on a tree. Experimenting with physical prints is an essential step in my process, and this work eventually found a place as a larger print within my series. This smaller version on luster is more intimate and evocative in different ways but is a standalone print.”

About the Artist:
Mehves Lelic is an Istanbul-born photographer based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. In her work she ponders modernity and heritage, belonging, and the resulting relationship with the environment. She currently is a Photography MFA student at Bard College. Her work has been exhibited at Filter Photo, Institute of Contemporary Art Baltimore, Rotterdam Photo Festival, the Ogden Museum, Biggs Museum of American Art, New Orleans Center for Creative Art, and others, and published in the National Geographic, GEO Magazine, Aesthetica, C41 Magazine, Lenscratch, Der Greif, and others.
