About the Tote Bag:
The portable Portable Hole Bag explores interior and exterior, time and space. Moving through the world holding this bag, one projects the ability to contravene the laws of physics and escape at a moment’s notice. Like Calvin Q. Calculus, Ringo Star and those who came after them, you are prepared to throw up your bag and escape at a moment’s notice. Peering into the interior of the bag you are met with a wide open mouth because sometimes the best way out is to dive deeper in.

About the Artist:
Nancy’s current body of work examines how the development of the online social world is affecting identity and social behavior. By creating interactive machines reminiscent of outdated technology, she addresses the contradictions present in various social media that are at once ephemeral and entirely permanent. Interactivity and the vocabulary of minimalist sculpture are key elements of her installations that challenge the viewer to look beyond the user-friendliness of online technology and consider what their participation in social media means. If you want to read more about her, check out the about us page on this very website because she is a co-founder.
